The largest city in North Dakota, Fargo is the county seat of Cass County. With Moorhead, its twin city in Minnesota, Fargo is the crossroads and economic center of a portion if both eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota.
Bismarck:
The capital of North Dakota, Bismarck is the county seat of Burleigh County. It was founded in 1872 and is situated on the east bank of the Missouri River. Bismarck is the economic center of a large portion of south-central North Dakota. The North Dakota State Capitol, situated in downtown Bismarck, is the tallest building in the state.
Grand Forks:
Located on the western banks of the Red River of the North in the Red River Valley, Grand Forks is prone to flooding. For many years, the city has been dependent on its local agriculture. Grand Forks is served by both the Grand Forks International Airport and the Grand Forks Air Force Base.
