The largest city in Montana, Billings is located in the south-central portion of the state. County seat of Yellowstone County, Billings was nicknamed the “Magic City” because of its rapid growth. Being in close proximity to the Yellowstone National Park, the city draws many visitors. Many area residents and highways travelers come by the city for shopping and accommodation.

The second largest city in Montana, Missoula is the largest media market in the state. The city is nicknamed the “Garden City” and is the home of the University of Montana.

 

Great Falls is the county seat of Cascade County. The city takes its name from the series of waterfalls that Lewis and Clark had to portage around in their 1805-1806 Expedition. Great Falls is known as the “Electric City”, having five hydroelectric dams in its vicinity, along the Missouri River.
