Topeka:
The capital of Kansas, Topeka is the mist populous city of Shawnee County. Situated along the Kansas River in northeast Kansas, the city is part of the Topeka metropolitan Area that includes
Shawnee, Jackson, Jefferson, Osage and Wabaunsee counties. Topeka means “to dig good potatoes” in the languages of the Kansa and Ioway, two Native American tribes.
